Well we've been having lots of fun this summer. At the end of May (OK I know its not technically summer but hey whos counting really) I asked the kids what they wanted to do no limits. Josh's answer was pretty expected - he wanted to go on a train. Lexies answer was that she wanted to go to the place with the bubbles you stand inside...cryptic enough for you...I finally figured out that she was refering to the Museum of Science where they have a little terrarium with a dome you can put your head up into the dome and be "inside" the terrarium. I figured that we could give everyone what they wanted and we jumped on the commuter rail into Boston. Three trains later (and one very excited Josh) we got to the Museum of Science. The kids really like this place. Most of it is over their heads but theres more than enough for them to do and see. When we got there we found that there was a "Hands on Engineering" activity going on so of course I had to check it out. It was a make your own bobsled experiment where you could use a bunch of different materials to make a little bob sled then race it down the track...Lexie mad one bobsled and Josh another one....and guess what Josh's sled actually made the fastest time (OK so maybe I suggested what materials he should use). But both the kids were very excited when they got to name the bobsled and had it put up on the board...What did they name their bobsled. Those of you who know Lexie and Josh well will not be surprised that it's gone down in history at the "Hotdog" sled.

Another task for this summer has been to update our picnic table in the back yard. I managed to nail it all back together and then we sanded off all the old paint. Lexie and Josh got to have their first lesson in using an orbital sander. Lexie was much more into it that Josh - Like Mother Like daughter.
We've also had numerous trips to the Zoo. Here are a few photos of one of our trips with our friends.

Mid June saw the annual Teddy Bear picnic taking place in Plainville. We decided to stop by on a whim and had a great time with some friends Sadie and Gianna.
We then ajourned to the nearby park where Lexie and Josh taught Sadie and Gianna all about those aforementioned joys of throwing stones in the water. (sorry Christine).
And in case you hadn't notied I've been busy knitting again. Here's lexie modelling her new dress that I made. Anyone for a dance?
The Millis Carnival came to town at the end of June. Once again Lexie and Josh had a ball. Lexie loves all the games (expecially the prizes) and they noth loved the rides this year. I took Lex on the sizzler this year and I think she enjoyed it. I know I did. She also got to ride the dizzy dragons by herself, and of course there were plenty of little rides, the train and the catterpiller.
On a sadder note our next door neighbours have moved out, they've gone to Canada. Rowan had a party before he left that both Lex and Josh had a ball at. It was at the local Little Gym and they got to do all the gym activites (including the bouncy house and the zip line) for about an hour then got pizza cake and icecream. As you can imagine they still talk about it everytime we drive past...That was Rowans Party.....
Last week was a big Touch a Truck event down at Patriot place. I've never been to one of these befoer but since Josh is currently obsessed with trucks of all kinds (but especially backhoes) I figured we'd taken them to this one. It was really good - well until all the kids found out where the horn buttons where, man so those trucks have loud horns.

We then headed over to the sand sculting exhibit and Lexie got to meet Spiderman. I couldn't belive how excited she was - I didn't even realise that she knew who he was!.

This week I finally managed to get myself organised enough to get down to the beach. One of my friends recommended Scusset beach down near the cape so that's where we headed (with our friend Angelina). It was actually quite a nice beach, nice white sane, really clear water. But wayyyyy to many people and unfortunately there was a ring of rocks just at the high tide line which were a killer to get over to get to the water, my feet are actually bruised. We all had a ball - got sunburned a bit ( well I did the kids seemed to have fared ok thankfully).
Then yesterday was another trip to Norwood airport to check out the planes...
So as you can see things have been rather hectic around here lately, but we're having a ball.
