So to start with here's the before pictures.
It took them only one day to gut the entire thing.
Got to love the old wallpaper they unearthed!
and by the end of day two we were down to bare studs.
Unfortunately it took them a bit longer to put it all back together.
In the mean time the lounge room had quadruple duty - Lounge room, kitchen, dining room and playroom. We ended up moving the dining room table under the window and taking up the rug, but generally this is the area we've been living in for the last month and a half. Really it wasn't too bad, we had the microwave and the slow cooker for making meals, the fridge was still on hand and we used the old sideboard/buffet to store the basic necessities for everyday living.
As you can see the whole experience really got the kids interested in the domestic arts, I just had to have a photo of this - Josh doing the vacuuming whilst Lexie washes the dishes. Got to encourage this.
But in the end it was all worth it.
And better still the kids have retained their newly found love of washing up.

Very smart kitchen now.
Does not look like a sauna any more. I think I said that before. Spain was great, good weather mostly and loved the tapas.
