A year Ago Today!

Wow I can't believe a whole year has gone by already. Certaily doesn't feel like that long ago that I was waiting impatiently for my little girl to introduce herself to us. But its been a great year and we had a great day celebrating. And now for some piccies. The birthday girl opening her first present. And more presents Mmmm waffles for breakfast! The birthday girl all frocked up in the same dress that I wore for my first birthday party! Now what shall I have for dinner. I think I'll have that please Mummy! Hmmm I wonder what's in here? Now its my turn to take some pictures. Can I have that camera please! But really at the end of the day, isn't the wrapping always more fun! I did make a cake for the birthday girl, But then we forgot to eat it so we're going to did into it at Lunch today and I'll post piccies later.

A long time coming

Well I know its been ages since I've updated this blog but I do have a good excuse...well an excuse anyway. I've been participating in the "Great Cloth Diaper Hunt". Its an online hunt that takes you to a whole bunch of online cloth nappy stores where you've got to find a hidden icon, in the process checking out all their stuff (and I assume they probably want you to buy stuff too but well you know me...) But I've finally found al the icons I need to get me into all prize draws so I can finally spend some time updating the blog.
Well "Fall" is almost done...well the leaf falling bit anyway, all the trees are almost bare so we've spent the last couple of weekends trying to clean up around the house, clean out the gutters - we had to buy a 25 foot extension ladder just to reach them mind you - rake the leaves etc, I have blisters all over my hands, but at least I have a sense of accomplishment, I woke up this morning to a beautiful clean lawn out front.....the back lawn however is still covered in leaves, maybe this afternoon I'll go back out. Lexies been having fun playing outside whilst Bill and I work, shes been jumping in the piles of leaves.
She found all the garden lights and pulled them all out, plus all the stair climbing. We were out raking the back yard last weekend when I turned around to find Miss Lexie trying to climb the stairs to the back deck. Rather scary, they're not exactly the safest stairs around..
Then this weekend when we were working out front she decided that the front stairs were really good and every time I turned around she was standing at the front door. That I could handle since thats only 4 concrete stairs, much less potential for disaster, but I haven't been game to take her back into the back yard....

Shes also taken a page from all the squirrels running around and decided that acorns are really yummy as I found her chewing on those a couple of times yesterday.

But what else has been going on. It was halloween last weekend, we didn't get any trick or treaters....darn it we had to eat all those chocolates ourselves. But we did have a go at carving another pumpkin (or Andy did). I was very impressed with the results.

Lexie had fun as well trying to help.
Otherwise its just been the day to day stuff. We had a bit of a breakthrough with sleeping last night. lexie went to bed at 7pm. woke at 12:30 but was easily patted back to sleep and slept right through to 6 am. Thats the first time shes gone through the entire night without a feed so I was pretty impressed, finally theres a light at the ned of the tunnel. I may one day get an uninterrupted nights sleep.
Unfortunately shes just woken up from her measly 30 min nap this morning cranky as can be so it may be time to head down to the park. I should remember to take the camera so I can put up some photos of her on the fire engine. Its the small slippery dip at the park. lexies managed to conquer it and it can now climb up all the levels to the top of the slippery dip, then down the slippery dip and back around to start again..
But I'll leave you wit one finaly Lexie image. She decided the other day that the books didn't belong in the book basket. she did...
